Of all the women I know who are on antidepressants, 100% of them have told me.
When it comes to women and their stupid mental problems that I don’t give a fuck about, I wish patients had to respect the doctor/client confidentiality agreement as well. That would not only make my life a lot less whiny, but it would also make every first date happening in Utah on any given Friday night about two awkward silences smoother.
If you weren’t aware, Utah has the highest per capita female usage of prescription antidepressants in the world. No one knows why, but it’s probably because Utah is extremely religious, and we all know women take to religion about as well as they take to using whiskey as a lubricant. It stings you for a minute, it stings her for a lifetime.
Men are better than women.
Men do not air our dirty laundry all over the place like we’re doing the world a favor.
First of all, men have an infinite number of classifications for “used” before we get to “dirty”. That’s how we stay attracted to women — no matter how many kids they have. Used does not equal dirty. Just because a pair of jeans are in the washing machine, doesn’t mean they’re dirty. Maybe you just sat on a Gummi Bear. It’s not like you shit yourself.
Secondly, men are better than women at taking prescription antidepressants.
I have known a friend of mine for two and a half years. Just this weekend, I found out he had a kid. I am manlighted to say that at this rate, I won’t know about his Xanax addiction until a woman is sitting in the Oval Office — which will be never.
Women can’t shut their mouths about what they shove down their throats. Zoloft, Lustral, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Zyban, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Paxil, Aropax, Cutting, Anorexia; to women those are all just another word for attention.
Why else would the depression rate for women be double that of men? It’s not like any woman ever got rich as shit in her 30’s and then realized she married way under their league. Do they have a drug for that?
Medicare should cover divorces.
Since all women were born with an unlimited debtors account at the Bank of Vagina Fargo, I see absolutely no reason why they should ever be depressed. Other than the reason that they fucking love being depressed.
For women, depression is a time machine into a world of being a good for fuck teenager, who doesn’t know shit about shit except that the refrigerator is magic, the day starts at 2PM, and money is something Republicans invented because George Bush hates black people.

P Coderch, I’m not doing a very good job making myself understood. I do not by any means believe that men are simple creatures. Believe me, I don’t. I’ve blogged on that very subject, more than once. Believe me, I have been taught this, in no uncertain terms. It is the main reason I fight so hard for mens’ rights. When I say that men are easy to please, I mean that if women would only pull their heads out of their asses, and get past their victim complex, and appreciate their men, we would all be so much happier.

Same. A male boss may be more demanding, harsher in his words etc but he isnt capricious or unfair. Women leaders usually suck. Take for example a recent project work group that I was involved in. It was previously under the charge of women till I got pissed at the lack of work done, took charge and the project is now cruising fine.
Women leaders/bosses etc tend to drone on about “ideals”, what they “hope” to achieve and “great goals” and “people’s happiness”. They dont take the world for what it is. The problem with a great deal of the women posting on this site, as stated by a guy nicked Alexander on another topic, is that women take everything at face value. When Dick says “Women are whores”, your first instinct is to go “NOOOO, there are exceptions, mother theresa….” and you go on a mindless drone. What you should do after reading any of Dick’s articles or any other man is to evaluate it… Why was there such a generalisation? Well, in my opinion, a man has to make the decisions. Yes, there should be respect, mutual agreement etc but there are just times when a man has to put his hands down. Take the eg of the UN. Its fair, countries all have a say but the big powers like the US etc have the veto power which they use only in emergencies. Men should have that card because the decisions they make are usually rational unlike women who base their decisions on emotions. An example would be in any war… say WW2.. there were times when proportions of the US populace just wanted to pull out of the war even though doing so would be disasterous… guess which gender advocated that? Yes, I respect their maternal instincts of love and care but rationality should take over in the form of cold, cool-headed ruthlessness.

Men are so intellectually complex that they device theories about how the Universe works, they postulate the workings of the DNA and create macines capable of reaching new planets. Compare this to the achievements of women. Men are also more emotionally complex than women: most of the great poets, writers and artists have beem male. Show me a single woman who can write with the emotion of Goethe, or paint like Michaelangelo, or sculpt like Fidias. You can’t. Women’s emotions are superficial at best, and revolve around whether people like them or not. Compare that to the emotions of men, who are capable of creating large movements to make the World better,. For instance, an even though I disagree with Marxism, all the intellectuals who conceptualized scientific socialism were males. Women don’t give a damn about social justice as long as they have the good life.
So why do you assume that it’s easier to keep a man happy than it is to keep a woman happy? All you have to do to keep a woman happy is give her shoes and flash something shiny in front of her every once in a while. Women are shallow, vain and stupid. Men have the true emotional depth.

Second, it is absurdly easy to keep a man happy. Love him, respect him, make sure he has a peaceful home, cook a good Sunday breakfast, sex him up regularly. That’s about it. With a small amount of sincere effort, women could turn this world around. A contented man is a man who can channel his energies into doing great things.

Depressed people (I’m speaking clinically depressed here) are made happier in marriage, relatively speaking, than happier people. (No, I don’t have a citation because I’m lazy. But it was a pretty good peer-reviewed study).
Even if it’s not a very good marriage.

@ Luka- When I said people should try to make their spouses happy, I was thinking along the lines of doing nice things for your spouse, appreciating and complimenting them, being willing to sometimes make sacrifices for their benefit, supporting them and what makes them happy, etc. I of course believe this should be reciprocal.
@ Mansvoice- I realize what I described was a bit extreme, which is why I said that it only applied if you were to take Ralohcs’s statement literally: “see themselves as nothing more than something to make their man happy.” Women are a great deal more than something to make their husband happy, and should see themselves that way, just like men are a great deal more than something to make their wives happy, and should (and do) see themselves that way. Ralohcs has some pretty extreme views, so I wasn’t sure the extent of which he meant literally what he said.
As for what you described, I agree that wives should appreciate their husband for what he does to support and help the family, and that they should be understanding of what he needs and what makes him happy, etc. Husbands should do the same. And when I said women have a right to ambition, I agree that whoever is determined to be more qualified (without gender bias in either direction), should get the job. My issue was that Ralohcs called women who pursue a career selfish. If they neglect their children, I might agree, but generally I believe they should have equal right to pursue their ambitions.
As for the submitting thing, I would have a problem being in a relationship that wasn’t 50-50, so mine are, and it works for me. Depends on the couple I guess.
Of course, again, thats over stretching it? I like my wife to submit when I want her to but to be a mindless drone? Not quite. I think most men here are rational enough to know that there should be a boundary drawn. Like most relationships, its very hard to have 50-50. One party usually has to give more. The women should give in to the guy more often than not because he is the leader of the family, contributes more financially to the family and not doing so would bruise his ego(yes men have huge egos) and cause the marriage to break down(As we often see today).

Sure they do. Just the fact that men are better and more capable. For example, men and women can both want/dream to be CEOs but its usually who deserves to eat the cake.
I take the view that it is next to impossible to make another person happy.
You are only responsible for your own happiness. Expecting another person to make you happy or expecting to be responsible for another person’s happiness is to invite constant disappointment and perhaps resentment when the other person doesn’t match up to expectation. Sometimes people don’t know the source of their own happiness/unhappiness let alone what would make another person happy.
It is possible, on the other hand, to make life easier and richer for your partner. I view a relationship like a form of teamwork, to the outside world you are as a united front. You stick up for your team. You don’t do things that could let down or embarrass the other. You support them in their interests and endeavours, you delight in their happiness and be understanding when they are sad. You build them up, not knock them down.
…but are you responsible for whether or not that person is happy or sad? Nope. You are there to help contribute to their happiness but you are not the source of happiness itself.
I’ll second what KellyMac said. Of course a wife should try to make her husband happy, and vice versa; I consider that very important (a marriage can’t survive otherwise). The problem is if that is someone’s ONLY concern and goal.
I never said that having the goal of raising a family made a person a mindless, soulless robot. I have plenty of respect for women who make that choice, even though it’s one I wouldn’t make myself. What I said is that a woman existing for the SOLE purpose of making her husband happy would be a mindless, soulless robot. Taking what you said literally, consider what living that way would imply. If she is only concerned with making him happy, she, unlike her husband, would have no regard for herself. Her own opinions, thoughts, feelings, etc. would go out the window, because any that were contrary to his, or bothersome/upsetting to him, would be suppressed in the effort to make him happy. Anything she wanted to do, that he did not approve of, she would not do. If she thinks of herself as NOTHING but something to make her husband happy, it is necessary that she abandon her own mind and will. I consider someone with no mind and will of their own to be mindless and soulless. What would you think of a man who lived only to make his wife happy?
Though, all this, of course, is taking what you said completely literally. If you meant something less extreme, then what I described wouldn’t necessarily be accurate.
My goals have nothing to do with ego or wanting wealth. I want to have a career because I would be bored crazy otherwise, and because I have passions/interests I want to pursue. Women have as much of a right to ambition as men do.
