Fighting the Good Fight
I recently had the misfortune of speaking with a highly ranking NOW member. At least that’s what she said. She couldn’t, however, explain to me exactly how one could rank highly in an organization like NOW. It’s like being a captain of the Swedish Submarine Brigade or the CEO of Armpit Fart Noises Inc. Seriously, what the fuck?
I raised several valid points about women being catastrophes and hazards to have in any level of government or under employ in any position where showcasing their sexuality was not the main job skill. I’m not talking about just prostitutes either. There are plenty of jobs where women exploit their sexuality: sales ladies, bar ladies, school teachers.
Why the fuck else would so many women teach? Because it’s easy?
Needless to say, I got the brush off. After all my salient and well put together points, I was called a derelict of this and that generation — the Stepford card was played, and I was summarily brushed aside.
Women can’t fight for causes for shit.
Men are natural born diplomats and politicians. We’re leaders and figureheads. It doesn’t matter what the cause is, if you put a man in charge of it, it’ll win. And ten years later everyone will look back and say, “Jesus, I can’t believe we ever thought any other way.” If a woman’s in charge of it, ten years later everyone will be saying, “Shit. We might have fucked that up.”

Women are natural born poor customer service reps. Now what happens when you put a shitty customer service rep in charge of a movement? Fuck, put them in charge of gathering lunch for the office, you get the same thing either way. A series of shrill regurgitations and an ethos of martyrdom. You end up with feminism.
When you’re an alleged highly ranking member of any organization, you can’t just brush off any Tom, Dick, or Harry with a flip of the wrist and a party talking point. That’s bad business.
To their credit, however, there has been one and only one woman in the history of the whole fucking world who knew how to fight a cause for shit: Joan of Arc. Here’s a little bit of food for thought, men. Make that a juicy rib eye for thought with a side of twice baked potato and sour cream and a mug of beef stew. It’s in a mug so you don’t have to use a bunch of silly effeminate silverware to enjoy the soup.

Saying Joan of Arc is a hero is like saying someone who’s been drinking Jagermeister for three hours is strong because he put his head through the windshield of a Peugot. He’s not strong. The Office is very good. Surprisingly, the US version is also very good. (It’s rare for the US to do a decent job on a britcom. Successful, yes, decent, no.). Check it out if you get the chance, Female. (It gets much, much better after the first 4-5 episodes).
And Dick needs no lessons from me on vocabulary; he’s been writing quite cogently since well before I arrived on the scene. I admire his… willingness to be blunt.

I agree one of the many things that attracts me to this website is Dicks masterful ability to cut through the bullshit. I think that Dick uses words and this ability to inspire thought provoking pieces of work. Regardless of whether or not you agree with them, a lot of them make me think and laugh at the same time. I’ve seen one episode of the US Office and I wasn’t surprisingly, cringing in my seat at how inapt the take-off was. though I do admit, they did try their best. I see the lead actor won the Golden Globe last night, so maybe it does improve after 4 - 5 episodes. I still couldn’t watch it, would just feel…dirty.

Still incomplete, and somewhat biased to the middle class, but not bad.
With the exception of jockey and miner, I can count at the very least a friendly acquaintance of every type of person on the list (if you count intelligence analyst — a deadly dull job — as “spy”), and, as I’m hardly the life and soul of any party, I know many people who do far better than I. Your list of three narrow categories of people is rather sad. You should get out more. Meet different kinds of people. Expand your horizons beyond the bars.

I have no issue with equality of opportunity. I have a very considerable issue with equality of outcome. Moreover, if we are strict on equal rights, that means men should have the same right as women to have children. Since this is biologically currently impossible, shall we implement Margaret Atwood-style Handmaids (say women convicted of crimes) who bear children for men (and other women) according to court order? That would certainly be one interpretation of “equal rights”.
And as Özgür said, in the event, however unlikely, you do a job as well as a man, you will be paid as well as one.
I will give you a hint, though: most jobs suitable for women in the modern economy require the ability to communicate using correct spelling and grammar.

Equality means one thing:
No double-standard. That’s it. Regardless of gender, girls are just to be viewed as shorter, weaker men if they are so, and taller skinnier men if they are as so. It’s as simple as that - don’t try to intimidate your physical superiors.

@ Doubt- Yep, people should be viewed as individuals and neither gender should have be given a false advantage. But “don’t try to intimidate your physical superiors”? Women shouldn’t have to live in fear of men any more than a smaller man should fear a larger one. People should be able to say basically whatever they want regardless of their size without fear of physical retribution. As for physical intimidation, the weak attacking the strong is extremely unfair (since the strong is then forced to either violate their principles by attacking someone weaker than them, or just accepting the abuse), and the strong should respect the weak’s rights and not resort to violence without very good cause.
Also, enough with attacking the female body. Breasts are not “fat sacks” and our hips aren’t “warped”. Male and female bodies are suited for different purposes and are therefore built differently, but one isn’t superior to the other. And breasts, by the way, unless they are VERY large, do not cause back pain or prevent women from playing sports or hiking.
