He wanted to get an engagement ring on his finger, and wanted on my mine as well. He loves the idea of symbolism. We both decided that spending a lot of money on a symbolic (yet unneccesary) piece of jewelry was pointless, so we spent around $200 on a nice pair of wedding bands. This is all I could ask for when it comes to the ring-department. Anything else would be ridiculous.

There is more to admit! I did not want to waste HIS money on a stupid ass wedding ceremony. He agreed, and we had a simple courthouse wedding. Some people thought it did not count as a “real marriage” and did not show up, even though they were invited. That is their choice… it is too bad they do not realize how unwasteful of a couple we are.

My husband and I are “young”… and we got married because we do, indeed, love each other and will stay loyal to one another. Till death do us part; until we are rotting underground with maggots crawling from our assholes.

Since he is in the Army, marriage is significant because I am not considered a primary dependent, and we are able to see each other more often. So we did marry for these reasons as well.

The truth is marriage IS over-rated and has nothing to do about commitment or love.

Steps of marrying.

1. Date her. Buy her dinners, take her to movies, get her an expensive trinket. Commonly this is the first step men must undertake. During this time the woman can “break it off” at any time even if he has lavished her with affection and spent a shit load of cash on her.

2. Secondly comes the engagement ring. A step up from dating but likewise the women can easily cheat on her man during this cycle or likewise break it off with him with no skin off her back.

3. Finally comes the marriage. The ceremony, certificate, wedding party, and wedding ring cost a fortune. None the less it is expected. Now that you’ve tied the knot does it stop adultery? Does it mean she’ll be with you until death do you part? If you won the lottery and she’s a wonderful person, sure thing!

Chances are however she’ll eventually cheat on you with a better off dude, call for a separation, eventually divorce you, and on top of all that take half of what you own.

As you can see marriage does not guarantee chastity nor does it symbolize “undying true love”. An oath is not an oath if it is easily broken. Matrimony laws actually make it easy to “lie” and “break promises”.
