Rape!

Click below to get Dick in your Ear and listen to the podcast of this article.

Women think that they somehow own rape — as though rape itself were a wedding and no man could have an opinion about it.

Actually, that was more profound than I thought it was going to be.

More men than women are raped every year. I, Dick Masterson, am taking back rape like I took back the vote. It’s a man thing and women aren’t allowed to have an opinion on it.

Rape is one of the most underreported crimes in the world. That’s because women don’t really give a shit about it. I sat on my seatbelt one time. It sucked and I was sore for a bit, but I cranked some metal all the way to work and by the time I got there, I didn’t give a shit. That’s basically the same as women and rape. They just need an extra long shower.

Extra long showers are metal for women.

Only 16% of rapes and sexual assaults are reported to the police. If women love to hate rape so much, then why do they constantly miss the opportunity to do something about it? Because they’re women. If rolling her eyes doesn’t fix the problem, it’s passed to the nearest man.

More men are raped every year than women. When I decided that, I was initially shocked at the statistics, which indicated the opposite: that I was wrong.

Prison rape statistics put the annual number of prisoner rape at approximately 7,000 a year. The average number of women who are “sexually assaulted” every year is 200,780.

That’s a big fucking difference. Like a wedding or menopause, it looks like women should own rape and be able to say whatever they want about it. However, like usual when dealing with women, I knew there was some bullshit afoot with that staggering 200,000.

When I forced my man-probe of investigation into this data, I discovered that “sexual assault” is not the same as rape. Apparently women aren’t going by the long-established and very manly Clinton definition of “sexual” when they define “assault”. If it didn’t fit, you must acquit.

64,080 of sexual assaults involve actual rape. And a staggeringly low 26% of these rapes were committed by an actual stranger.

A roommate who drinks all your beer isn’t a thief, he’s just a dick. A younger brother who burns your toys isn’t an arsonist, he’s just a dick. A guy who fucks a drunk girl who passed out in his bed isn’t a rapist, he’s just a dick. Get over it.

26% of 64,000 rape victims is 16,640 women. Getting your boob grabbed on the subway isn’t rape.

A woman might think these pruning measures should be applied to my prison man-rape statistics, but if anything, prison rape is probably more underreported than regular rape.

I have something I call the Treasure Map of Truth that I use when dealing with women. Step one is determining what women actually mean with a word like “sexually”. They never mean what you think they mean. Step two means figuring out how much of it was her fault. It’s usually very high. In this case, 74%. And step three is see where she’s lying her fucking ass off.

Less than half of accused rapists are convicted. 54% to be mancise. That means any man accused of and arrested for rape is likely to not have done shit. Can anyone say Duke Lacrosse?

If 54% of rapes didn’t actually happen, then that reported 16,640 goes down to 7,654.

If I was a woman, that’s where I would stop. 7,654 women and 6,908 men are raped every year and it looks like women barely squeaked out a majority on this one. That doesn’t mean it’s theirs, but it does make me wrong, which I’m much more concerned about.

By all conservative estimates, 10% of rape victims are male. That means the final rape statistics for any given year are 7,750 men and 6,750 women.

Men are better than women.

That’s what you take issue with, KellyMac? Not that you shoudn’t, because men’s issues need to be brought to light as much as women’s, but I find it incredible that you took no offense to what is arguably one of Dick’s most misogynistic and offensive articles. The percentage of rape that is the female victim’s fault is “usually very high” (as if it’s ever the victim’s fault)? Rape isn’t rape if the woman is unconcious? Women don’t give a shit about rape, all they need is a long shower, and they should “get over it”? You find none of this offensive enough to be worth commenting on?

  2. Savant Says:

    Ahem, Alex. STFU.

That’s something that I learned on myspace, from a bunch of 13 year old girls. Apparently it means “shut the fuck up”. I guess women think shit like that is cool. Anyways…

In this country, it is unlawful to force oneself sexually on another person, and I… somewhat…. agree with that.

The somewhat comes into play, because apparently it is NOT unlawful to dress provocatively, cocktease, and ruthlessly play men to “feel pretty”. I totally understand that daddy didn’t love you because he wouldn’t dye a pony pink, teach it how to fly and give it to you on your 16th birthday along with a Farrari. We all feel for you, and know that you we’re horribly mistreated.

But when you take your angst for not being a princess out on every man by slutting in the bars and extorting drinks by flashing skin… if you get raped, it’s you own damn fault, and not a “real” man alive will give a flying fuck about how horrible you feel.

That said, Dick is right. If someone we’re legitimatly raped, they would call the police. Because they do nothing about it, thereafore, they don’t really care.

  3. KellyMac Says:

Rape - actual, real rape - is reprehensible. But false accusation of rape is far, far more common than the real thing. Also, when a woman is raped, she is very gently handled by the system, and everyone has great sympathy for her. Fine, there’s nothing wrong with that. But when a man is raped, he’s a laughingstock. And prison rape is treated like a big joke.

I’ll go back and read Dick’s article now. My comment was because I found J.D.’s comment offensive in the extreme.

  4. Alex Says:

@ Savant- “That said, Dick is right. If someone we’re legitimatly raped, they would call the police. Because they do nothing about it, thereafore, they don’t really care.”

Not reporting a rape is not at all indicative of not caring about it. A woman who’s raped may be too ashamed or afraid to go to the police, or too traumatized by the rape to handle facing the rapist in court.

Also, of course it isn’t illegal to dress provocatively. You expect there to be some sort of full-blown dress code enforced by law? But rape is a heinous assault and should be illegal regardless of what the person is wearing; a person doesn’t suddenly lose posession of their body depending on how they dress. If you don’t believe that in terms of women, what about men? If a gay man dresses flamboyantly, or very effeminately, and some bigots decide to beat him up for it, is it “his own damn fault”, or should he have a right to dress however he pleases without being physically attacked?

@ KellyMac- Portions of Dick’s article are offensive in the extreme, and misogynistic.

  5. zogmama Says:

“If 54% of rapes didn’t actually happen”

Based on the fact that the accused rapist is not convicted. By that logic, OJ Simpson didn’t commit murder, either.

“If it didn’t fit, you must acquit.”

See? Dick even added a clue to the post. Let’s not forget Dick’s background.

Do the math, folks. The statistics in the article are created out of whole cloth, and to top it off, the math doesn’t work. Dick’s pulling your leg. I’m sure he’ll sit back and chuckle at how bent people get over the whole thing.

Thank you Alex for proving that rape is women’s fault. You can’t feel ashamed of something that is not your fault.

Mostly 100% of women’s rape is the women’s fault. She put herself in that situation, and it’s her responsibility to accept. If I ride my bicycle on a tightrope without a net, I’m pretty much dead, and it’s not the rope-maker’s fault.

    .

Actually, it is his fault. Regardless of sexual orientation, if you dress in ways that invite criticism, you can’t freak out when you receive it.

Once again, thank you for bringing gay people into the mix. It is amazing to me how many women think that they will win any argument, simply by bringing gay men into it. Keep bigotry alive, Alex. Fight the power.

Emotions are not factual. Just because you feel traumatized, does not constitute a good enough reason to forego descisive action. Women should at least be smart enough to realize that if you are a female rape victim, you will be coddled, fed sugar cookies and become a national hero complete with ticker tape parade.

Thereafore, if a woman is going to choose not to report it, she’s either completely retarded, or knows it’s her fault.

And yes. I think that a national dress code is a fine idea. As a matter of fact, thats probably the most brilliant thing you have ever said.

    Na…really? Booooorring.

    What’s your real band, Savant?

  10. Savant Says:

    @Catherine…

Do us a favor babe, and shut the bloody fuck up when people are trying to make actual points. Ralohcs Denrael made a very valid, and rather entertaining analogy.

  11. Savant Says:

    Listen to the radio.

  12. Catherine Says:

Savant, Denrael is an ass. (Just in general, not cause of what he said here.)

I do apologize for my earlier attacks on you - I was merely figuring some stuff out.

I never listen to the radio. Unless it’s internet radio.

My loss then - it was sincere interest. I love music.

    hi dick:

    great post as always.

hey dick, u might as well video yourself reading your post. and if u r really playing the piano, then show yourself playing.

not that u really need to, but i think it would be kool.

u know that u will sooner or later anyway.

    keep up the great work.

dick, every word in your posts r 100% true in my eyes, no matter what my girlfriend says.

    cheers.

  14. Savant Says:

Are you on myspace? You should send me an invite.

Apologies are not needed. I simply ask that one use logic prior to emotion.

Just for equailities sake… haha… when men’s emotions are validated, we get things like war… gang violence…. murder… the typical “not showing me respect” thing. Emotions are for personal use only… mitigating circumstances aside. And typically, there are none.

  15. Alex Says:

“Thank you Alex for proving that rape is women’s fault. You can’t feel ashamed of something that is not your fault.”

Of course you can. It’s an illogical and irrational way to feel, but plenty of people would. You wouldn’t be ashamed if you got raped?

And rape is not the fault of the victim. No crime is the fault of the victim. Almost everyone, at some point in their life, makes a poor decision that puts them in a vulnerable position in some way (winding up in a bad area, ignoring suspicions that something is off, whatever). Whether or not someone gets mugged, raped, killed, etc. because of it, depends on whether there is a thief/rapist/killer present. The tight-rope analogy doesn’t work because obviously riding a bike on a tight-rope is incredibly dangerous, and it is very likely you will fall. But I assume you think highly enough of men to know that the vast majority aren’t rapists. Most likely, a rape victim could have walked down that shady area 1000 times and been fine, but that 1001st time there was a rapist present, so the outcome was rape. People need to realize they aren’t invincible and act accordingly, but if they do not, the criminal is still fully responsible for his (or her) actions.

“Actually, it is his fault. Regardless of sexual orientation, if you dress in ways that invite criticism, you can’t freak out when you receive it. ”

Of course you invite criticism. A woman who dresses slutty should expect people will think she’s a slut, maybe treat her with less respect, make lude comments, whatever. And it’s perfectly within those people’s rights to think she’s a slut, and treat her with less respect, and make lude comments. It isn’t within their rights to rape her. A person has rights to their own body, and that can’t be taken away by others based on how they’re dressed. You can not beat someone up or rape them because of how they look. And, by the way, I am not a bigot. I used the example of a gay man because the men here are more sympathetic to other men, so it’s a better way to illustrate my point. I used a gay man rather than a straight one, because there have been many cases of gay men being beat for looking or acting effeminate.

  16. Savant Says:

    @Alex…
People don’t walk up to flambouyantly-dressed gay men and beat them up for being gay. They beat them up for being flambouyantly dressed. You can’t tell if a man is gay or not by how he dresses. You can only tell if he’s having sex, or if he tells you. Than the choice in clothing makes no difference.

I never said that rape in any case was right. I meant that certain situations were understandable. Certainly, undeserving women get raped. But you increase odds by throwing tail out on the menu. They may be the victim, but it’s still their bloody fault.

  17. Female Says:

Alex, don’t let Savant bait you, because unless he thinks all women should wear one-eyed burkas (where if you wink, they’ll only think you blinked), he’s just flamboyantly lying his ass off. Also, the whole ‘blame the rape on the women’s clothing’ is just illogical. If we believe this, then we must also believe that women in Afghanistan are never raped, when in fact, that’s probably one country where it is more likely to happen.

  18. KellyMac Says:

Actually, guys, it is a fact that if a woman is raped (and I’m still talking about for-real rape here), her first impulse will be to take a million showers, burn whatever she was wearing and try to pretend it never happened. Never forget, we women are emotional creatures. She will just want it to be behind her.

That being said, however, I still believe most accusations of rape are either out-and-out lies, or cases of morning-after regrets.

  19. Chris Says:

I wore tight jeans once night and my wife grabbed my ass!
    Outrage. Shock. Shame.
    Call the police.

  20. Doubt Says:

Aye, it’s a rape of the word ‘rape.’ And there’s no repercussions for a false accusation of rape, nooo, our little ‘dancers’ and ‘no-touchie-touchies’ must be protected at all cost. If it means 1,000 more African children - erm, boys, boys - must die to finance their lifestyles (cuz diamond necklaces and Barbie slippers are so kawaii), fuck them, just don’t think about it.
That’s the ultimate solution, isn’t it? Shoot the messenger, bleach your mind, force the world to envelope your bubble. As long as fresh air isn’t an issue - deprivation kills brain cells, you know.
Really, though, girls who falsely accuse men of rape, such as the immature little slut involved in the Duke case (she got off, didn’t she?), should find themselves jailed for at least 5 years. 5 years to let the potential consequences of their actions sink in. And not in a special gurlz’ prison, either. She should enjoy the same lifestyle and financing that the men she imprisoned do; and their cases should be automatically re-examined if she is merely suspected of such an offense. As in they should leave on bail if there is even a sliver of doubt as to their guilt, and the slut (I assure you she is, it’s just putting it on paper) arouses suspicion.
