Umm, just saying, but in that whole session of stories, not one of the guys that you didn’t have sex with stayed with you. That kind of speaks for its self. I’m a faithful guy and all, but a relationship without sex is little to nothing; in a man’s mind(at least I’m assuming based off of my mind lol) if there’s no sex, there’s nothing to stay for. Unless the woman is providing something useful or helpful to the man other than emotional support, then sex is a necessity; it makes up for the perks the man gives the woman in the relationship; ie. cards, flowers, pays for dates, a place to stay, food on the table, etc. Unless a woman can provide these things for herself or give the man some sort of non-emotional support, then she is useless to that man. In my humble opinion :)

i understand that you think there are women who are horrible to men and vice versa but i do not for one second believe romance is dead
a boyfriend from high school created a day of fun things just for me which included all the ridiculous things i liked to do like disney movies and ding dong ditching….and it wasnt to get laid because he didnt get laid (and we stayed together for 3 more months)
a different guy sang me a song (love me do) in front of a lotta my friends because he wanted to go out with me and we never had sex so it wasnt just to get laid

the bottom line is it’s awesome that you’re happy with your guy and you don’t care that he doesn’t bring you flowers or anything because you think romance is dead, but don’t generalize because there are guys out there who still care about that stuff. for the record girls like ‘romantic’ things because it proves that a guy isn’t just saying the same stuff to every girl he meets, it proves he thinks you’re worth the extra effort even if its something small. sorry if you think that its overrated or stupid for someone to want to feel special every now and again but thats my view

There are 6 pages of comments so no one is going to read this but I feel like a point should be made.
I am a chick, obviously, and I am not offended by a thing this guy is writing about because he’s correct. It’s just like racism- there’s a stereotype that minorities steal, lie, sell drugs (obviously not completely true) and no one wants someone to judge one based on the color of their skin. However, statistics show that the minorities (which is a small amount of the population the way it is) are matching up half and half (if not, over) in criminal situations. So, if over half the crimes in the U.S. are committed by a minority then looks like the stereotype would be correct. So, if minorities don’t like the stereo type then knock the crap off. Same goes with women…
if you’re not going to get a job and your education consists of where the best place to shop is and where to get your hair done, then all you’re good for is your vagina and it’s no one’s fault but your own. Do something with your life other than look beautiful (not saying men don’t appreciate it). If men can be successful and look good, so can you.
So when most women lie, cheat, and manipulate then I just can’t blame this guy for voicing his opinion. Sure it’s shallow because this opinion may not apply to most women but hey, why not?
I love to clean, I love to look good, and I love being educated and knowing what I’m doing. I can change the oil in my own car. If something breaks, if I can’t fix it, I know how to call someone who can. I make my own money. I pay my own bills. I know how to be faithful to one man and keep it in my pants. I know how to love and I know it’s wrong to hate. I know how to maintain my weight and eat right. I know how to handle children (even criminal ones-I worked with juvenile delinquents). I know how to control my drinking. I know how to beat the shit out of anyone who attacks me (or if I just feel the need to knock out some crazy drunk chick getting in my face). I am now working on my second degree to become a doctor of psychology to conduct research varied on my personal interest and, of course, lack of knowledge in certain areas of study… and I’m 23.
Now, if I may be blunt, all you crazy women out there screaming at your computers thinking that this guy is a jackass, well, although he may be, you just proved him right. I just finished reading 6 pages of angry terroristic comments… you all should seek medical help. Why wouldn’t he talk shit about women, look at how you talk down to men? Pissed at your boyfriend because he doesn’t call you 4 times a day? Ticked off because your husband works his ass off to give you and your family the world but you still nag at him because you want more and you’re wondering why he cheated on you? Men find it more attractive when you find yourself, know yourself, push yourself… and you know what, you’d love yourself more.
So go ahead, start bashing on me (because that’s what women like to do best), call me a dike, like some will, but I’m not  I’m just a girl that sees the flaw in other women and tried to change it in myself and to this day. I never want to make a man feel used like that or underappreciated. I love my man to death and I would do anything for him and he would do anything for me… emotionally… and physically ;) and I couldn’t be happier.
I ran across this website because I was researching any article about how a lot of men aren’t romantic, but after reading 6 pages of comments bitching about men… if I was a guy, you wouldn’t see an f-ing baby’s breath from me (for those who don’t know what baby’s breath is, don’t take it literally, it’s an addition they put with roses or other flowers to set off a bouquet).
To the author, I do have one argument. You said, “Women are simple creatures. To them, flowers showing up on the same day every year is a complicated fucking marvel like a comet would be to a primitive monkey-man.”
I do have to say from my perspective it’s the other way around. Flowers and candy and cards are a ridiculous concept and not very thought provoking at all. Men just go to Wal-mart and pick the first thing they see- in and out in 10 minutes and spent less than $30. I appreciate this because it’s a thought, you know, and honestly, I don’t know if I’ve ever met a guy who was smart enough to actually do something a little more creative and unique (maybe even less expensive). So, I’m not going to be the nagging bitch because my man doesn’t do the little things for me. So, instead nagging for something original, I’d settle for flowers.
My boyfriend has never given me flowers or jewelry. For most girls, this is a prerequisite but I’m not demanding. He got me a card once, on our anniversary but that’s it. instead he’s supportive, faithful (unlike a lot of people), offers to take me to lunch when I’m so busy I forget to eat or when I’m shopping he will make the gesture to get something for me I need (like a window scrapper). When we go to the bar he generally buys me at least one drink knowing that I’m saving money and I believe it’s irresponsible to spend money when it belongs elsewhere. He kisses me when I look at him; he tells me he loves me. I don’t have to call him 4 times a day… we’ll meet up later, when he texts me when he’s done with work. He smiles when he sees me and is always concerned with my wellbeing.
So although he may not be romantic, he’d do anything for me and I would for him. I cook for him, I clean for him, I dress sexy for him, I don’t nag (I really don’t have anything to nag about) and I do it not because he “suppressed me”, it’s because I appreciate him for loving me and being faithful to me… (because that really is a rare quality not just in men but in anyone) … not saying that some day it would be nice if he did something romantic but it’s not a requirement.
So, please, it’s not that women are so simple that they find it a miracle that you got them flowers, it’s because it’s a miracle you got anything at all.
Conclusion: There’s no such thing as “romantic” anymore. The only time “romance” is applied is under false terms… just to get laid… now that’s honest
