Now that we are actually ALLOWED to go to school – all the way through the PhD even – we (well not me yet) are making discoveries and brilliant works of art ourselves. In my Biology Phd program, I met a couple of amazingly brilliant men, and I met an equal number of amazingly brilliant women. The most brilliant person of all happened to be an Asian woman. She could figure out problems that had stumped veteran scientists for decades, within a couple of weeks. Everyone, men and women, wanted her to consult with them. And she had only been in the field about 1 year! So – if you want to compare women to cockroaches, go ahead. But it is rather lame. Maybe if you get a little closer to reality then people will listen to you.

I’m just discovering the world of angry men. It’s all around us, but mostly invisible except here on the internet where you get to be anonymous. I’m sorry you are so angry. Certainly I’ve known men who seem hateful to women, now I can understand what is in your minds. I don’t get it though. Jesus was seized after passover, which would be mid to late April. Israel is in the Middle East, which would start to get hot in April. Also, a lot of the people who followed Jesus were poor. It’s not a stretch to imagine a poor Israeli wearing only one layer of clothing that time of year. Lastly, to qualify as a “young man” he would be 13-20 years old. (20 years old would have qualified him for military service.) In the US, we would call most people in this range “minors” and would not expect them to stand up to an armed mob.

So somewhere in the process of running away from an angry mob brandishing swords and clubs he lost his robe. INCREDIBLE!!
