I agree with Shyona/Shyna’s excellently stated comment(s). Heh.
But seriously… people (usually men) who tend to vehemently hate the use of sarcasm are those who probably aren’t able to comprehend the meaning of the sarcastic comments to which they object. This makes them feel less intelligent, hence, the unbalanced anger. If it didn’t threaten your intelligence, you wouldn’t be so furious.

For this statement to be be true an intelligent, successful and contented fellow would have to have an IQ of about 50, be working in a burger bar and be suffering from severe depression.

I was fishing about on the internet looking for articles about women using sarcasm as a weapon, particularly during and after a divorce. My boyfriend gets nothing but sarcasm from the ex and she has taught her daughters to use the same miserable communication style. It accomplishes little except to continue an argument rather than resolve a conflict.

It was interesting to hear a man’s point of view absent scientific research and such. One of the most common “turn offs” for men on the dating scene is sarcasm. It would seem that women can be ridiculously sarcastic towards men… it is our unique tool. Check out Wikipedia… sarcasm is described as a low or base form of irony and can be viewed as bullying. Hmmmm….. Maybe women should consider taming it down if we care to be taken seriously.

Not all men are created equal… nice in concept, but we are talking about personality, confidence, intelligence and I hate to point it out, but it is true> physically.

The men that women adore (the majority, not ones with chips on their shoulders and are intimidated by strong, powerful presence of an alpha male, the women Im talking about are confident, strong, independent, intelligent and are physically appealing/desirable) are men that are comfortable with themselves, like themselves, confident, perhaps a tad bit cocky but sliced with humor (including laughing about themselves), healthy (keep themselves in shape) and yes, good looking (whether that means being well groomed and dressing well or just genetically blessed)…. and the masculinity of these men (not some bloated gym junkie who is just really insecure and overcompensates) will absolutely appeal to these strong women’s feminine essence… women loved to feel like a woman, love to feel sexy, love to feel protected/comfortable/cozy…. there is no real mystery to women, not at all…. and the biggest fallacy of them all> that women are in control and are the ones who choose… they do not… it is us, these rare men that do that choosing ;-)

I think you’re giving a generalisation of females you know. In real life people are more decent. There are plenty of decent men and women everywhere- sometimes they just pretend to be obnoxious. All it takes is healthy self confidence and self esteem on the part of men to respect and accept women as they are- we’re different but just as good.
