I awoke this morning with a powerful thirst to wrap my large, male brain-muscles around a myth that needs busting. So here it is: women hate nice guys.

Saying that women hate nice guys is like saying that it’s okay to drink in the workplace on days that end in “-day”. It’s annoying and redundant and stupid because all days end in “-day” just like all men are nice.
Bullshit, you say? How about no shit at all!
Think back on your own. When your car was stalled in the middle of a busy intersection, who helped you push it across? That’s right, a man. When you had something heavy that needed dumping behind a 7-11 — like a couch or a woman who passed out drunk in your backseat because she was trying way too hard to impress all of her whore friends; who helped you chuck it?

Has a man ever eaten half of your pizza and then made you play ten minutes of “I’m too stupid to do math because Cosmo said that was sexy” before chipping in? Fuck no, because that’s one of the most irritating games in the world and men don’t propagate that manner of horseshit. If he did though, it was probably extremely funny — something that women are also not and will never be.
In the practice of life, there is no struggle where a man won’t lend a man hand. Men will even help women, which is the biggest testament of all to our undeniable niceness. A woman, you see, will never ever offer any kind of ‘thank you’, so we’re pretty much doing it for nothing. She will just stand their clumsily with her uncharged cell phone and explain ad naseum how life did not prepare her in the least for whatever it was that needed doing. Wow, could you tell me something more obvious? Or should I say ovarious?
Speaking of that, if you had a Pog for every time that a man paid for a woman’s abortion (pretty nice considering it’s 100% her fault), you’d have a shitload of Pogs. It’s called responsibility ladies — who are absolutely forbidden from reading this. If you don’t want the cat in the cookie jar, close the fucking lid. Jesus.
By the way, if any of you men can think of something more helpful and nice than a man, please let me know. Purely for curiosity’s sake, the point has already been proven.

Let me tell you why you don’t often see younger women offering help to men, and if you have seen it, the helpful woman would probably be an elderly lady. A younger woman is less likely to approach and help a man because a man just can’t help but put everything on a sexual level.
Case in point, a man is lonely and sitting in pub, women is not sexually attracted to him but he brings out her nurturing side and so she approaches him to give him some company/emotional comfort. Now, that man is not going to want to deal with the emotional pain through just talking, no siree, he is going to want to deal with that pain by blocking it out either via drink, drugs or sex, and so the whole point of why the woman approached him is lost.
He is going to crack onto her and she is going to walk away. As women aren’t stupid creatures and they already realise how that lonely man will treat them if they approach him (attempt to put her kind offer of company on a sexual level), they just wont bother to offer help. Especially where they perceive doing so would put them in an awkward and potientially abusive situation if he doesn’t like the fact that he gets rebuffed sexually.
So, perhaps you should stop attempting to assign faults in women that arise in response to faults in man. Sorry, I forgot, you men here are simply perfect and women are useless, pathetic and deserving of condemnation. I’d say, “go fuck your Real Dolls” but you probably already are. Hope that was evil enough for you.

Yes yes all gold but I just got banned from a games forum when some poor son of a bitch posted a story about how his gf cheated on him for $100 and he “felt bad” for calling her a slut and a whore.
Some fembot told him he should be ashamed of himself for calling her such “horrible names” and the usual feminist hivemind packslut mentality. I called her a dumb fucking cunt who encourages degenerate behavior and said she should shut the fuck up more often.

@sots He should feel badly for calling her a “slut”. That was unproven. Calling her a whore though was sadly accurate, and he need have no shame for using that term to apply to a woman who chose to be unfaithful and have sex with another man for $100.

I believe all in society should have access to at least decent basic preventative and catastrophic healthcare, yes. That doesn’t mean I believe in universal state-sponsored healthcare. As for capitalism, to paraphrase Churchill, it’s not that great a system but it sure beats out every alternative we’ve ever tried.

I think I need to make something clear here, Capitalism most definitely isn’t democracy. Neither system actually needs the other.
Look at China. As they “free” up their market to investment and trade from the outside world, they gain much more acceptance in the democratic west, despite not doing anything about ditching the totalitarian government. That leads me to ask: Are we more concerned with Capitalism than Democracy?
billy, I totally agree that interest groups are an affront to democracy (not capitalism). An interest group pushes it interests beyond true representation of the number of people belonging to their group. That’s most definitely NOT democratic. Here’s the rub. Businesses are probably the most active of entities that form interest groups. How many business groups get to consult with government, to push their personal agenda? How many people do they actually represent? I wouldn’t say (non management) employees, because in my opinion only the rarest business sees its (non management) employees as an asset, most see them as payroll cost. Shareholders? Yep, in terms of return. The wider community? Hell NO, they may be lobbying precisely because the wider community doesn’t like/want what they are doing. This is something business does often under the guise of “it’s good for the economyâ€?. Every time I hear that quote from a business leader I piss myself laughing. It may be true, but I bet it wasn’t even a consideration at decision time.
As for a world government, I hope we are moving in that direction. The question is how. Lot’s of arguments over how to do it, even amongst those sharing the same general Democratic/Capitalist out look i.e. British Westminster system or a republican style democracy?

@abaddon - I can’t think of anything better than capitalism as an economic system for human beings, assuming your goals are that the poor have as much material wealth as possible, and that there be a high degree of innovation, and that people be economically relatively free to ‘pursue happiness’. I still think it’s a decidedly imperfect system for human beings.
@JD I agree with some of what you say, disagree with some. Definitely disagree with views on businesses and the possibility of a world government which would, in my humble view, be one of the worst things imaginable to befall our benighted planet.
If you guys want to discuss this further, I suggest starting a thread in Politik so we can keep this thread for discussion generally relating to Dick’s original thesis.
