Women suck at computers

Computers are all over the place: the bank, the sciences, the workplace — in other words, places where women are not. Is this a coincidence? You bet your ass that no it isn’t.

Women face countless problems in their pipe-dream of equality. The biggest being that the whole notion is childish and only realistic to an insane person or someone who has never had a job.

Women also suck at computers.

It’s the same way that men suck at being happy when their best friend gets dumped and then has to rely on them for emotional support. That just doesn’t make the kind of sense to us.

Computers are that way for women.

You see, women don’t understand computers because they don’t understand the basics of cause and effect — that the one causes the other. It’s childlike in its simplicity, I know, but it’s absolutely true.

This backwards mentality applies to computers just as easily as it applies to every other aspect of a woman’s life, which she is right about to hopelessly fuck up yet again by doing the exact same thing and expecting it somehow to magically work this time.

I saw this in action just yesterday while waiting in line for an ATM at the bank. For some absurd reason, a woman had been put in charge of her own finances and had promptly lost her ATM card in the machine. She started frantically pressing buttons, expecting that at any moment something profoundly contrary to what had happened was about to happen. Guess what. It didn’t.

What I’m saying here is that men are better than women because every time a man drops a rock in to a ditch, he knows it’s going to fall. Women think that if they do it enough, it will turn into a Snicker’s bar.

The study’s interesting, you can find a pdf copy here: (http://www.educationnext.org/20064/ednext20064_68.pdf). I skimmed through it earlier.

It’s worth noting that some of his results are below statistical significance thresholds. I’d characterize it as a persuasive, but hardly conclusive analysis. It also has the feel of being much closer to a well-[peer-]reviewed article than a scientific paper.

Great find nevertheless gwallan. I think the author’s probably quite right.

Maximum masculine kudos to you, gwallan, for that find. I am going to see if I can get a copy of that study so that next time there is bitching about boys’ underachievement I can say that women teachers are ruining boys’ futures. I wonder if places like India have more male teachers than female?

Women suck at computers

No I don’t, I outscored thousands upon thousands of men in my Vocational Education Training IT course last year…I was in the top 2%. If I truly sucked I wouldn’t have that kind of score.

Anyway, I wouldn’t date the top guy if you paid me. He’s probably into Doctor WHO and spends his day in his basement doing things girls prefer not to think guys do.

Just had a brainwave: maybe websites that bag out feminism is the new way to compensate for tiny penises! Hey!

Jolly good; pip-pip as the British a few generations ago would have said.

@Female: “men are more selfish than women”. I don’t think that is the case. Certainly it is antithetical to the way men have traditionally been socialized. I would tend to agree, though, that possibly in their natural state, men may well be more selfish than women. Maybe. That suggests feminism’s destruction of traditional gender socialization has been inordinately destructive to women.

The thing is, what makes a man is not just the way he’s born, but the way he’s raised. That’s vital. And I sincerely think that’s a point most feminists — especially gender feminists — miss utterly.

Since you’re a fellow South Park fan, I know you’ll grasp contrasting the Birkenhead drill with “Shake your t-tt–s when you vote, b—-.”

I suspect the latter approach came from a female-headed household. The former definitely didn’t, and is the antithesis of selfishness.

Right. So what you’re suggesting is that women are oppressing men and keeping them out of the schools by force and that what you see as being inevitable is a mass u[rising of men suddenly throwing in their jobs and flocking to colleges to get re-educated as a teacher, after which they will then march en masse towards schools, hoist the female teachers of their jobs and commence teaching happily on a civil servants salary? Is that your big revolutionary fantasy? Someone obviously forgot to tell you that men are more selfish than women and they aren’t going to want to take that pay-cut. Sorry, but yah, women aren’t to blame. Not going to play your little stupid game.

the feminist use children as shields for their agenda. We all know it’s jsut part of women lies and manipulation. The titanic went down carrying mostly men a children to the depths of the cold waters. Twice as many women survived as did children.
When it comes down to it women ae only concerned with their own fat asses. Now female take your narcistic ass away from here.

Female you are one stupid cunt.

The hallmark of your gender is deception, betrayal, mischief. You really think they’re above fraud just because your pathetic movement put wings on a fish and called it a teacher?

Here’s the real story. Women suck at teaching and conveying information just as much as they suck at not fucking their students, or gourging themselves on breakfast pastries.

The young men of this generation are already seeing the lies we have been fed. The feminist traitors will soon be rounded up, decimated, destroyed, and defeated… Or it will be civil war without end.

Hows a field trip to Mecca sound, Female?

Teachers (most of whom are women themselves) likely are marking the girls easier and being tougher on boys — even when the answers are the same.

This is exactly what former President Summers of Harvard University said in Jan-2005 … and was, of course, roundly criticized for his remarks by the liberal-feminazi intelligentsia (http://badgerherald.com/news/2005/02/09/harvard_president_ra.php).   He was the kid on the side of the road in the story of the emperor with no clothes; he was pointing out that young women were shunning the ‘hard’ sciences in freshman college courses, like math and physics, and this in spite of 30 years of innumerable measures to encourage and facilitate the entry of women into the engineering and science faculties.

I agree with Harvard’s Prez on this, but the thing that makes me scratch my head is the fact that the highest marks in any high school’s graduating class go to the girls, not the boys. Indeed, it’s particularly perplexing when girls score highest in the maths and sciences in high school. My youngest son graduated from the 12th grade in June, and this is exactly what I saw when the kids marched up to the podium, one by one, to collect their diplomas: girls at the top, marks-wise.

What I suspect, however, is this: the girls are getting a break. Teachers (most of whom are women themselves) likely are marking the girls easier and being tougher on boys — even when the answers are the same. But more significantly, the school system today is set up to favor girls, not boys. It’s a well known fact that teenage boys in high school fail their courses — and tend to drop out — at a far higher rate than girls. And many secondary school educators are admitting that we are doing an abysmal job in helping teenage boys deal with both academic and peer pressures in high school, compared to teenage girls.

Thanks to feminism, and the thousands of different ways American society is now “equalizing” the supposed educational and economic gaps between men and women, we are now short-changing teenage boys. Young men are slowly being sentenced into lives of quiet destitution, while young women are essentially being served life on a silver platter. God help us a generation from now when these chickens come home to roost.

I think the crux of the problem lies with this unwillingness to learn and understand.

Indeed. You’d think life in its entirety is a means to an end for women.

If a man calls the I.T dept., he will usually at least make some effort to grasp the nature of the problem in an attempt to fix it himself next time. .

I disagree women aren’t unwilling to learn and understand.
They are incapable of understanding.
They have a memory which means they can be taught to do some functions providing they they are willing to learn. But understanding, no, it can’t be taught.

Another reason men are better than women.
This shouldn’t even be an argued, it’s factual.

Mike, I do actually completely agree with your post. However, I have only ever seen it apply to female workers aged late 40’s and over, and even then, I wouldn’t say it’s typical female behaviour in the workforce. So maybe what you have seen is evidence of a generational or individual mindset? I think the problem becomes is that if you have one lazy and dominant individual (her Royal Highness being her preferred name) who throughout the day, turns around for a chat after every solid 5 minutes of staring catatonic at the monitor like she’s never actually ever laid eyes on it before, and if this person is able to influence other women in the office to gossip and basically treat the workplace like a social support group for agoraphobics, then you have yourself one big problem and individual such as you have observed.

One question though if women are so bad at computers than why are so many of them secretaries that have to deal with using them?.. sure they might not be writing code or dealing complex mathematical equations but I know there are plenty of women who know how to open excel, make a spreadsheet, take down notes, make a letter. Might not be that complicated but that still shows, and dissproves you, that they are good at using computers.

But the real question is why aren’t more women dealing with IT departments?.. I don’t really understand that. Maybe they just don’t like it. But to really say women suck at computers, you haven’t convinced me at all?

In my experience, a typical secretary might be able to do those sort of tasks you mentioned but her capabilities generally end there.

I know women that have been secretaries for 20+ years, can type exceedingly quickly - but cannot locate a saved document outside of MS Word. They had not bothered to learn how Windows Explorer works.
Even better is when they cycle power to their monitor as part of the restart process, as if it makes the slightest difference.

I think the crux of the problem lies with this unwillingness to learn and understand.

If a man calls the I.T dept., he will usually at least make some effort to grasp the nature of the problem in an attempt to fix it himself next time. Whereas if a woman will usually wander off and start gossiping elsewhere until the problem is resolved. It’s as if she knows that she isn’t capable of understanding what went wrong.

I wouldn’t say women are necessarily “good” at computers either. They just use them to get a few repetative tasks done, like mindless robots most of the time.
