The manner in which women navigate differs than men. A man relies on his spatial awareness-distance, speed, etc. and a woman relies on landmarks(street names, buildings, hot dog stands). In a familiar area there is little difference, but in a new area landmarks aren’t as reliable plus, landmarks change.

Actually humans can multitask, it is computers (with single cores) that cannot multitask. When you are driving standard (manly) and talking with your fellow man passengers, while actively observing the road around you, steering the vehicle while receiving information from all of your other senses as well you are multitasking.

Thinking about more than one thing though is not possible, as the action of thinking makes you focus on only that. You can switch thoughts rapidly but you cannot think about more than one consciously.

I've probably misunderstood you but I'm assuming that by the ability to 'navigate' you are not including the ability to get from one point to another using a map. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen women turning roadmaps upside down or sideways and swirl the roadmap around and still lose track of which direction they're heading in.
