I am back in college for another 2-year degree, and I recently e-blasted a (very) feminist professor of my Humanities class in the student midterm review.
Because they considered my “indictment” of the current state of affairs in the classrooms, textbooks, and feminist’s heads so scathing, I was called into the dean’s office, where there were also other “important” people, including the mayor.
They told me that the teacher “felt threatened” over my review (I used NO threatening wordage), and that if I didn’t apologize, I was being suspended.
I basically replied, “It’s MY review, and I’ll write what I want, short of ACTUAL threats, or libel.”
I told them I’m sick and tired of the running theme of men as oppressors and whimmin as victims so present, if only intermittently, in the textbooks.
I asked somewhat rhetorically (assuming a certain level of intelligence and awareness in them), what is this garbage TEACHING these young, impressionable whimmin coming into these schools, if it isn’t teaching them the “oppression theory of underachievement,” and to relegate themselves into perpetual victimhood status?
They maintained their position, so I repeated what I say so often to such a conceptual position: “whimmin’s feeeeeeeeliiiings are not necessarily equivalent to reality.”
They gave me that “perception IS reality” b.s., and we went around in circles (just like on here or in real life in general with the whimmin – who I DON’T at all hate, but have every right to be frustrated with based on their sense of, and ACTUAL, entitlement).
