Cutting
I met a woman last night who told me about a phenomenon known as “cutting”.
If you thought bulimia was pointless and stupid, you better come up with some more derogatory words for this one.
“Pointlesser” and “stupider” are not words.
Each year, women do immeasurable damage to their credit to soothe their aching self-esteems. Apparently, they also slice themselves up. Gross.
“Cutting” is defined as self-inflicted scratches or cuts — enough to break the skin, done to assuage intense psychological distress or cope with upsetting and overwhelming emotions.
Manslation: Wah!
“Wah” is the sound a baby makes when it’s crying.
“Cutting” is no different than anything else women do when they’re emotionally overwhelmed or distressed. I once saw a woman kick the side of her car because she couldn’t figure out how to open the trunk. Is that called “toe stubbing”? Are there any signs I need to watch out for, like a refusal to wear fucking sandals?
Another time, I heard a woman complaining about men while she was eating. Here’s a tip, honey. Put down the fork and men will be nicer to you. No one pays to look at graffiti, but I’ve seen The David six times and it still drops my jaw.
When men are “emotionally overwhelmed” we do one of two things: pull an all-nighter, or punch someone in the fucking mouth — or drink like ten beers. Who cares which because all of them solve the problem. Give me one problem that can’t be solved in any of those ways. I will punch myself in the mouth if you can. Problem solved.
Speaking of solving problems, this is how to solve “cutting”: don’t pay any attention to it. I researched this “cutting” phenomenon this morning and found a bunch of websites that look like someone drew them with neon fucking crayons. That can only mean one thing: they’re targeted to teenage girls.
Teenage girls do anything and everything because they think it’s cool. That’s why they act so stupid all the time; because they think it’s cool. No human being — not even a woman, could be as dumb as a teenage girl acts. If you show them a Stop sign, they’ll ask what it tastes like. If you give them a plastic plate of spaghetti, they’ll throw it all over the floor. Give them a problem, and they’ll cut an ‘F’ in their arm for ‘Failure’.
Men are better than women.
In all seriousness, “cutting” is on the rise among teens. If you know anyone who suffers from “cutting”, then don’t pay any fucking attention to it exactly like I said.

She needs mental help. She is probably cutting herself to take away the pain from her mental suffering. The pain from a cut distracts the mind from other issues that she doesnt want to face head on. She needs to do this, but she will probably need help to do it.
I’ve heard of a few people doing this, I’m sure it must be worrying, but from what I’ve heard a lot of them try to conceal it, like they do with their mental pain and never usually mark place where people can see, so in a way her cutting her arm is a good sign because she is asking for attention and signaling the depth of her mental troubles.
Like I said get her to deal with these issues head on, but it’s probably better to get professional help rather a family member try to deal with her. Don’t let her go on depressants IMO its a temporary fix.

Anyone who visits this site that has a daughter deserves to burn in hell. You are probably the reason she does this… and the fact that you are only slightly worried is terrible.
Screw man points, do you like being a sucky father? Teen suicide is not something to take lightly, It happens when these types of things are ignored. My sister used to do it, and I despised her for it. I thought it was all for attention, and while it probably was, ignoring the problem didn’t help. She’s in a clinic now, where they will not let her physically harm herself. It sucks because it didn’t have to come to that.
By the way, drinking to solve problems, Dick? How is that coping mechanism any different than cutting? It’s not. Check out an alcoholics anonymous before your liver rots out of your body.

I knew a girl who would attempt cutting herself. Of course it was nothing damaging, she did it for attention. You see, she lived in a single father house hold and he beat his two daughters when he was drunk. The youngest girl now has nerve damage, and she turned out well….what you would all call a whore. She’s the sweeetest person, she just goes out looking for cock that’ll be nice to her, cause her father screwed her life over.
As for cutting, if people cut on there arms, its for attention. PAY THEM ATTENTION; the right kind. Not sympathy, attention. Bring in an official, it’ll stop soon if its not serious. As for people that cut there upper thigh, this is dangerous. As its not only for attention.
The brain has a wonderful system, where one pain cancels out another. In this case, the emotional pain is canceled out by the physical pain. The chemicals that cause this are highly addictive, and this should not be treated as a joke.

You’re daughter is doing it for attention. Other wise she would do it in more discreet places. Depending on the severity of the the cuts, you can tell what is going on. If they re shallow grazes, chances are she’s trying to be “emo”, this is good way of defining her personality (as this is what teenagers are out to do).
If they are deep, this indicates a couple of problems.
1) She is becoming addicted to the chemicals that are released afterwards, this creates a cycle that is hard to brake
and
2)She is using cutting to cancel out some form of emotional pain ( thats actually fact- please dont think that its some hippie mumbo jumbo)
If you don’t feel you are right to deal with the problem please tell her school councilor at least. I this isn’t nipped in the bud, it can lead to real bad mental problems that will lead into her adult life.
And please don’t brush this post off, I’m being absolutely genuine.
