I don’t think you are prideful or egotistical. Your comment about how men don’t submit is admirable and truly helps me to understand masculinity. Because in truth, as someone said earlier in this post, we really don’t know what it is like to be the other gender. Perhaps women are not as smart as men. Won’t the natural order of things expose that. If the majority of women are incompetent, they will find their place in society, wherever that may be. But does that mean that women must be despised and disdained if they do have the competence to compete. Women lead fortune 500 companies. I can change a tire, my own oil (although it might be more difficult for me than a man). I have even assisted in rebuilding the engine in my car because I am capable and if I truly wanted to I could go to school to become a mechanic. Do I have an interest in that? no. If I had to could I? Yes. Do I have friends who are helplessly retarded in those areas, yes. Do I fault them for their lack of talents? No. Do they have talents in others areas? Yes. Are they both men and women? Yes. And although I am not sure what is involved in drilling an oil derrick I do have the mental capacity to find out and at least understand what is involved and perhaps even organize a group of men to do the drilling. There is merit in that, just as if I were drilling. Both are needed to get the job done.

You say men could do women’s work, true, but in most cases it would be crappily done, just as if I tried to compete with the best man physically, it would be sub-par. My point is that we don’t have to put one another down and claim the “it’s mine” mentality. The best part of masculinity does not include the “it’s mine”. Just as women have negative aspects the “it’s mine” aspect is certainly one of men’s. Competetiveness is an admirable quality in a man until it begins to be detrimental to society or the group or the family or whatever as a whole. The destruction in our world throughout history is a prime example of the wonderful competetive nature of man spinning out of control.

This goes back to the “dominant” only having true power because it is given by another. Both roles are essential and have equal footing in society. Those who take destroy. Those who earn and respect and give credence are given power. But one does not exist without the other, and both win. So, truly, where does the power lie? In both.

I suppose it is true that a man submitting to a woman is odd, and unnatural. However, a women, a true woman would never want such a thing if her position was upheld by a man as crucial, essential and valid. She would give all, it is in her nature. But it is also in her nature to resist domination. But she will willingly give all when it is obvious to her that a man does not wish to take control but to lead. So, I suppose the real truth is that men don’t submit and women will not be dominated. Men must ask for and aquire dominace and women must give submissiveness and have influence. But still the power is equal. Dominant does not mean Superior and Submissive does not mean Inferior. His power depends on her relinquishing control and her power depends on his counseling with her to make the best choice for all. True synergy cannot exist otherwise. Without such a balance there is contention and dissent; a battle for control. Both roles are essential, valid and of great worth, one not greater than the other.

I don’t agree fully, but I think that was very well thought out and compassionate. If this is how you live your life, I hope it turns out well.
