Women suck at computers
Computers are all over the place: the bank, the sciences, the workplace — in other words, places where women are not. Is this a coincidence? You bet your ass that no it isn’t.
Women face countless problems in their pipe-dream of equality. The biggest being that the whole notion is childish and only realistic to an insane person or someone who has never had a job.
Women also suck at computers.
It’s the same way that men suck at being happy when their best friend gets dumped and then has to rely on them for emotional support. That just doesn’t make the kind of sense to us.
Computers are that way for women.
You see, women don’t understand computers because they don’t understand the basics of cause and effect — that the one causes the other. It’s childlike in its simplicity, I know, but it’s absolutely true.
This backwards mentality applies to computers just as easily as it applies to every other aspect of a woman’s life, which she is right about to hopelessly fuck up yet again by doing the exact same thing and expecting it somehow to magically work this time.
I saw this in action just yesterday while waiting in line for an ATM at the bank. For some absurd reason, a woman had been put in charge of her own finances and had promptly lost her ATM card in the machine. She started frantically pressing buttons, expecting that at any moment something profoundly contrary to what had happened was about to happen. Guess what. It didn’t.
What I’m saying here is that men are better than women because every time a man drops a rock in to a ditch, he knows it’s going to fall. Women think that if they do it enough, it will turn into a Snicker’s bar.

I think that this depends. While it’s true that not many women are all too interested in computers and can’t make it from one end to another, this does not apply to all women. In fact, most of my female friends can use computers better than my male friends. No offense, but this is stupid.
My dad’s a programmer. So, of course, I was always interested in the strange machine that my dad sat in front of for hours, wondering what the hell it was, and how it worked, and why he was sitting in front of it so fixedly. I was.. what, five?
Yes, many women cannot figure out computers/machinery, etc. But, really, not many women care to try, because it’s just not in their way of thinking to try a lot of the time. I think that, were a female to take an interest in the computer, she could do almost/just as well as any male using a computer.
In this age, most kids are using computers, including young girls. Both my younger sisters are using computers. And, sure, maybe we don’t do the same things you apparently all-powerful males do on the computer, but hey. At least we can figure it out, and that’s more credit than Dick is giving us.
I’ll probably agree on the chess front. I’ve not met many women that play chess (well.) I really haven’t tried. I probably won’t try until someone puts me in front of a chess board and asks me to play. And, then, I probably will absolutely suck at the game. So what? Not all women suck at chess, and not all women suck at using computers and computing.

I don’t think I’m quite female enough to gush over your words: “You are probably another exception that proves the rule.” I won’t be reduced to going on and on about how you’re the nicest male I’ve ever met. However, I’ll admit I expected an insulting reply, and to read yours was relieving, to say the least.
While a chimp would probably be useless on a computer without training, that does not mean that it can’t be taught. Since I assume you were comparing the chimp to women, I’ll also say that, in this way, a female can be taught to effectively use computers.
Though, they’d still need to take an interest in learning, first.

I was going to write a long, boring speech on why this site is stupid and pointless, but then I realized that no matter how many times I argued against this, I’d get no where.
So, instead, I’m merely going to ask this question, out of curiosity: For the males who share this man’s opinion, why do you have this point of view? I’m not trying to demand an answer, I’m just curious. I want to know why this opinion is so wide-spread.

Maybe for a more peaciful answer. To start with, emo is hardly a genre of music. Wiether it be slang or not, if you look it up you’ll learn in an instant what it means. Secondly, you state you come without guns ablazing and claim you wish to keep calling each other a moron, yet the first thing you do is ridicule being called “emo” and twist it around. I share many of Dick’s beliefs for a couple of reasons. Often times he includes FACTS. Facts are as good as truth, there in no yes, no, maybe to it. Its like calling truth lies, it doesn’t work. This portion of what he writes may be small but is by fact and/or statistically right. Make a survey, I promise you the level of computer-dead women are off the charts compared to men. I honestly believe the other half of Dick’s writing is overexagurated satire and if not, his own opinon. But even with that belief, you state that most men state “yeah theyre retarted” yet I haven’t seen a fraction of intelligent posts by women. At least shitty posts by men grab ahold of something that matters like “I agree, they suck” which refers to the article. Instead, women come in and state everyone is an asshole and runs with no reason whatsoever. Way to make since. Even Dick’s opinons don’t look to overexagerated after that.

No problem, to be frank, I think 50% of the guys here are idiots, it’s just a matter of that not being the subject at hand and that makes that hard to debate on. So many unneccisary addons to everything. If someone wants to bash about the topic that’s fine, wiether offencive or devensive, but insults outside of the box come from both sides and are unneeded. Let’s take a lookie. A couple posts below me theres a post by Amie (assuming it’s a girl) put GET A BRAIN. What the hell does that have to do with anything relating to the topic or anything whatsoever? Give some supported detail, really now. Of course someone is going to jump aboard and bash her which is fine enough, but that makes people jump and say, “HA, men are better than women!” But the exact same thing can be seen a few posts up were you’re ridiculed about your name. Once again though, in my belief statistically and by fact there are things that men can do better than women. It’s nearly fact that musculer training is fearly more difficult for a women, statistically, women are less interested in computers. It’s just more difficult or unlikely, people shouldn’t be anywhere near suprised to see a woman computer engineer or a female body builder, because it’s (believe it or not) possible, but as soon as opinons and numbers fly in, somehow facts and opinons mix to make this giant ugly mush. I actually agree with standpoints like use not having a female president, but only for the reason that women are often emotionally controlled and I fear a country ruled by emotion which is the last thing this country needs. It’s not exactly against women, it’s that I don’t feel the boot fits. In the end, I don’t believe it’s stating “Men Are Better Than Women”, I think it’s stating, there are alot of things men could do better than women. I agree, women do suck at computers/computing in general. I stereotype when I say this, but most men enjoy mechanical things and math in general.

To be honest I agree a lot of women suck at computers, but only because the majority are just not interested in learning about how to use them properly. My dad put me in front of a computer at the age of 3, I grew up using them alot and understanding how they work, I did CSS and HTML among other stuff when I was 7 or 8. Suffice to say I got A* at my ICT GCSE and I was in the top 5 in my year, yes all the others were boys. But if my dad and brother didn’t influence me to like computers, play video games and use basic programs then I would suck at computers as much as any other girl in my class. Now I’m older computers do not interest me much, but I can work them, so I can understand how other females my age just wouldn’t have any interest or motivation in understanding how they work.
However I think the next generation of women will be equally good at working computers as their male counterparts, computing is used by all kids nowadays, and I’m sure you will be proved wrong in your “women suck at computers” statement.

Men don’t fall in love with their competitors. They may respect them, or fear them, or loathe them, but they don’t love them. When you cast yourself in the role of a competitor you signed up for this. We put our competitors down. That makes sense in a competitive world.

True, but the overwhelming majority are men, no women has ever reached the 2800 rating, and chess or any strategy game to any whore is a mystery, because she will consider it to be “boring” or “unessential”. When two men are using their manminds to compete in this game, a women hates that because she is jealous of the fact that she cannot comprehend such logic. As a matter of fact, women need their own “women’s world chess championship”, come on chess is not a contact sport, why cannot it be integrated with men’s. Because woman’s chess is something like softball not baseball, it is just there to appease the rare chessplaying female crowd and cannot stand up to the intensity of real gaming.
